My Eyes Open. It Begins.
I’m often asked how I start my day. So often, in fact, that I thought it would make for a great series of emails that dive into the details of my morning routine.
If you glean even one ounce of usable wisdom from these forthcoming emails, I’ll consider it time well spent.
I have 6 keys to a perfect morning. Just six.
Here’s the deal: I’m busy. Insanely busy.
In addition to my career as a fitness and nutrition expert, I also own a creative agency/production company. You’ve probably seen some of our work. I’m also an investor in a few other businesses.
Right out of the gate, I want to be clear about something: the things I’m saying are not said to impress you, but to impress upon you what’s possible.
On any given day, I have a minimum of 25 projects going on, all with competing deadlines, big personalities and high stakes.
With all that’s conspiring to steal my attention professionally, I manage to eat well, maintain a buttoned up workout schedule and lavish my beautiful wife with attention (though not nearly as much as I should. she’s reading this right now. i guarantee you. hi kate! flowers are coming).
After a lot of trial and error, I’ve learned something.
If I own my morning, I own my day.
Here’s how it goes:
Wake Up With Gratitude
Give
Meditate
Workout
Eat
Work
That’s it. Those 6 keys help me fire off the starting line like Usain Bolt. And once I start, I’m relentless. Unstoppable.
You can be too.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be doing a deeper dive into each of these bullet points to flesh out the finer points.
I really hope it helps you. I know that it can. Things that took me years of trial and error to learn are about to be yours in just a few short emails.
For now, I just want you to think about that sentence outlined in red, above. IF I OWN MY MORNING, I OWN MY DAY.
Just chew that over and think about how a few moments of mindful endeavor when you first wake up can tee you up for a full day, and an entire lifetime, of success.
Talk again soon!
